Product Juror Questionnaire
All jurors are volunteers. Jurors are asked to pass or fail items based on their beauty or appeal, quality, and uniqueness/creativity. An item similar to that which can be found at a large department store, for instance, doesn't receive a pass. We also try to avoid the flea market or church basement bazaar look. An item that is common and doesn't look exceptional in some way doesn't receive a pass. Whether or not the item can be made easily is irrelevant. Whether or not one thinks the vendor would be able to sell the item is irrelevant.
Standards vary according to how common the item is to a craft show. For example, jewellery has a much higher standard of jurying than lamps. It is NOT enough for jewellery to be nice. It has to be unique in some way, or otherwise exceptional. This standard applies to all items that are very common. We need jurors who neither like everything nor hate everything. The juror's role is very important. The show is only as good as its jury. As a juror, you will receive an email with links to photos of items that are to be considered for entry. The amount of these emails varies depending on the time of year. Don't worry though, you won't be flooded. :) This questionnaire will enable us to determine whether or not your perspective of what should be allowed is in line with the show's objectives. Please state whether or not you would pass the following. Please consider beauty or visual appeal, quality, and uniqueness/creativity, especially in regards to the jewellery. It is not enough for the jewellery to be nice. |
Thank you for your willingness to volunteer as a juror!
