Vendor Rules
Criteria | Rules | Policies & Venues | Applications
Our shows are an opportunity for you to show and sell your wonderful creations; to market your abilities and entice customers to purchase something wonderful that you made. We have some rules that we would like bring to your attention which are for the benefit of all vendors. If you want the reasons for any of the rules, please feel free to ask Cher. RULES: As a gesture of kindness to other vendors and customers, we ask that you refrain from using hairspray (at the show) or fragrances on your person. Please begin packing up after the show has ended. Items you or your immediate family member(s) did not create or creatively alter significantly by hand are not allowed. They must have involved a certain level of handiwork, which varies depending on the item. Photography and prints must be of your original photos or artwork. Please do not initiate conversation with shoppers who are at someone else's booth. Please do not bring anything that you have not been approved to sell. You will be required to remove items which were not approved. We do this to ensure a wide variety, no duplication, and fair competition for all. Approved items in different colours and sizes are OK. If you are to omit anything from your selling list, please tell the coordinator immediately. This will enable her to provide the best booth placements for everyone, including you. It will also enable another vendor to sell in that category. You have paid for a space of certain parameters – please be considerate of other vendors and use only the space you have been assigned. Your table must be covered with a cloth or banner to the floor. A tablecloth will help ensure that your table looks inviting to customers. We suggest you use the space under your table to store your bins and boxes of extra products or bags, etc. The use of Indigenous symbols, names, motifs and objects in the production of crafts, may be exhibited by Indigenous artists and artisans only. Please do not advertise other shows at your booth. It is OK to include a list of your upcoming shows in your merchandise bags, or to collect customers' contact info to inform them of shows you'll be at. Handwritten paper or whiteboard signs larger than 8" x 10" are not permitted. The ability to order items outside your selling list is not permitted without permission. Please also do not promote other items that you make or services you offer without permission. If it's not conflicting with any of the other vendors and it's not an item that was rejected by us, it will likely be allowed. There are some wonderful volunteers; they are here to help with our shows. They are able to assist you by watching your table while you take a break or if you want to do a quick walk-around to shop at the other vendors’ tables. Please note that they are here to assist all vendors and as such they should not be asked to leave the premises (to run errands, get coffee, etc.). Violating rules results in one or more of the following:
- Having to pass a quality assurance quiz to participate again - Financial penalty when you apply to participate again - Forfeit of your privilege to participate in 30 Craft Market and to avail yourself of our related services (incl Facebook groups). Cancellation due to rule breakage or your behaviour results in no refunds for future shows booked. If you would like an explanation of any of the rules, or the reasons for them, please ask. |
